Ever since the late hard freeze that Richardson experienced winter before last the holly plants that were not under our house eave have had yellow leaves. Those plants that were under the eave have wonderful green color. I assumed that I had freeze damage. I thought that as new growth emerged this season that the new leaves would have a normal green color. Much to my surprise the yellow part of the plants are producing yellow new growth and the green part of the plants are producing nice green leaves. I treated early in the season with green sand as I did last year thinking that maybe I was lacking in iron. This really does not seem logical since a single plant can have both types of leaves depending on if it is under the eave or not. To add to the mystery I have noticed many of the holly plants in Richardson with the same looking problems and the problem seems independent of their locations. I am hoping someone as an answer for me. Thanks!!!!
