Post subject:  Browning plants -Testing the waters

We've been replacing non-natives with natives in our yard this spring and notice that recently a good number of the plants are browning out. The leaves are developing reddish brown edges that spread inward.

We've only lived in this house 20 months or so and wonder if the problem might be associated with the water. Our yard and beds are watered from an 800 ft well and neighbors have warned that two or three years ago the salt content of that aquifer was high and damaged many plants. I seem to recall they even suggested it was the natives that suffered the most. Does that make sense?

Does anyone know where I can get my water checked?

I would call The Texas Plant and Soil Lab and talk to them about it. I don't know if they test water but they test everything else.
