Post subject: | Question on Ball Moss |
I have been working on my ball moss problem for about two years. I have been able to manually remove about 80% out of most of my trees. I follow up with a spray of sodium bicarbonate, I know the Potassium Bicarbonate is better but cannot afford the 100lbs+ needed. any way, I have had good luck with the solution. I did alot of spraying last year and tested a heavily affected tree and it killed about 90% this last weekend I was cleaning the dead moss out and noticed new growth starting, so time to spray again. Recently I have read adding Plant Wash is a great addition to the spray to enhance the effectiveness however at $100/gal I am hesitant. I was wondering if other "additives" would increase the effectiveness. Would adding liquid molasses or cornmeal tea improve it, would adding some soap have any effect? any ideas? |

Adding orange oil the bicarbonate spray might be worth a try. It is a solvent and should make the killing power more thorough. |

Howard, do you have a recommended amount of orange oil per gallon of sodium bicarbonate solution? 1 or two tablespoons/gal? |
