Post subject:  blue point junipers

I have 15 blue point junipers that are spaced at 5 foot intervals. They have been in the ground about 5 years. All look healthy except for one. The top half of the unhealthy one is totally brown and dead, while the bottom part is still green. I can not see any insects. Should I cut the dead portion off. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you,

Richard Janick

Richard-
I think this is a call you are going to have to make.
I've seen juniper branches die on one side of a healthy plant many times, without reason. It's just the way they are. Who knows why the top of yours died but it will not come back so your options are to cut it off and hope the plant can catch up with the others or pull it out and encourage, through trimming, the others to fill in the spot.
