Post subject: | Tree around pond |
I have a small pond in the front yard. I have a Shantung in middle. It is still small at the present. I have my pond area enclose with landscaape timbers turned up on in and rocks around the pond. I was wanting a Japanese Maple to put next to pond. But it will be in total sun. I have read this might be to much sun. Is this correct Now if it is I would like to know what would be best to plant right next to pond area that would take the place of a Japanese Maple. Any suggestions, must be a small tree though because pond is close to front door. Thanks Bob I live in Irving |

Anywhere in TX, you're going to want to offer a Japanese Maple shade from the sun anywhere around midday. A few hours direct in the morning is more than enough sun here. Planting next to a pond or river, Birch Trees are nice specimens, especially the Improved Varieties. One statement in your post disturbs me a bit: Quote: I have a small pond in the front yard. I have a Shantung in middle.
That's Shatung in the middle of the YARD not the POND, yes? |
