just lost 1/2 of the branches from a 25 yr old live oak in the recent tornado. now that it's been pruned, is there anything else I should do? fertilize - water - leave it alone - give it a hug? thanks |

Sick tree treatment, plenty of spray-feeding with organics, and don't kill it with overwatering. Watch for any wounds that get bothersome such as a pruned cut that gets disease or bugs in it. If that happens, clean the affected area with peroxide and use tree trunk goop on the wound for a while. Sick tree treatment and Tree trunk goop info are in the sticky posts at teh top of the tree forum. |

JAX, Sorry about your tornado damaged tree. Have the larger branches been cut back to the main trunk? I think they should be and be dressed for the final cut. I use "Wet-Dry" roof patch and have seen no affects to the tree. Your profile is very incomplete and just curious where the tornado was. Does JAX = Jacksonville, Florida ? |
