My neighbor's Live Oak tree has suddenly, within the last 5 to 10 days, began losing leaves which have turned brown and are shedding from the top down. They are not organic but haven't used any chemicals and they water properly. The owner asked me about it since he knows I am a crew member here. I thin that they have exposed the flair but beyond that I don't know. Sick tree treatment perhaps?
any ideas?
Mike

It could be a number of things, but I tend to be biased toward insufficient watering, especially if it's a tree in its first few years of planting. How old is it? If it's a mature tree, then probably not, but if it were planted this spring, then probably so.

Been in the ground for 5 years. I looked at it this morning and the rot flare is buried again. I'll refer my neighbors to this site for the sick tree treatment and see if that helps.
Thanks,
Mike
