Wow, I'm on a roll -- three questions in a row  . I just have so may LOL.

Anyway, I have been reading a lot about soil-based organisms and how they may relate to our health and digestion. So, do you wash your veggies with a veggie-wash or do you just rinse them off?

The group that publishes "Nutrition Action" published a study on the "veggie washes" and found that plain old water was as good as (or better, environmentally) than the product sold. With organically grown fruit and vegetables, the potential harm is not from chemicals as much as plain old bacteria...and a good wash with water and a little bit of elbow grease in washing is effective for safe eating.
Even so...I have never gotten ill from eating tomatoes or peppers right off the vine with no washing at all! Maybe a little dirt is good for us!

That's what I was thinking. That the normally occuring bacteria in the soil may be good for us and help keep our digestive tracts balanced -- it's the ones from the manure and stuff that gave me pause.
