just wanted to share my critter moment. i'm sitting our here on the patio, enjoying this gorgeous day, playing on the computer. a mockingbird lands less than three feet from me & stands there a moment, then moves a little away. i was amazed it came so close. i went to stand up to get a tasty treat for it & saw the snake under my chair! it was just a garden snake, but if that thing had crawled over my bare feet, fort worth would have heard the scream. he politely let me move him to a less inhabited space.
you never know.

I am glad to know you are informed enough not to panic at every little snake you see. These are beneficial creatures.

Actually, everything does have its place whether we like it or not. It is man that has created most problems with things like mosquitoes and fire ants. That's another story. Back to yours:

Thanks for sharing. I have been told that Mockingbirds are great snake detectors. Does anyone else have experiences to share?
