About a month ago the top half of my new (Planted in Sept of 2003) 20 foot bald cypress tree turned brown over night. I called Howard on his show to try to figure out what had happened to it. I knew in was in a wet spot in my yard as I had lost two beautiful oak trees from "very wet feet" a year before. Howard asked if it could have gotten sprayed with a herbicide. That wasn't possible from the location of the tree and I have been organic for years even before moving into my current new home. We were both stummped. I had put out ferterizer and dry molasses a few days before the problem started, but Howard was sure that wouldn't have caused the browning.

The mystery has been solved. It did get too dry. With all the rain we have received in the past couple of weeks the top of the tree is once again greening up. I have learned I will need to water the tree much more than I had thought. Just glad not to lose the tree.

I think I may have taken your call. Sounds familiar. Was it on a Saturday? Regardless, I am happy to know the health of your tree is improving!
