Help! Creeping buttercup is taking over the lawn under my fruit trees. I do not wish to use any harmful chemicals, which will damage the roots of my trees, any ideas?

Just looked it up. So THAT'S what that stuff is called!

Mow it down.

If you ever get a hot sunny day, spray it with the strongest vinegar you can find. It might take repeated spraying to get rid of it.

Something else you might try is dusting it with baking soda. Wet the leaves first and dust the baking soda on. A good way to dust baking soda (which tends to clump) is to put the baking soda into an old sock or nylon hose. Then beat the sock against you hand and the dust will fall out on to the plant. If the plant is sensitive to sodium, it will die very quickly. Don't dust the soil, though. Just the leaves. Same for the vinegar - just the leaves.
