Post subject:  Repelling My Pot-Bellied Pig

My wife and I have just completed new flower beds and stocked them with many plants, shrubs, and flowers. However, our pot-bellied pig now seems to be enjoying them more than us.

We do not want to put up electric wires around our new beds and more so do not want to repel him with chemicals.

I am looking for a long-lasting, effective organic recipe for repelling the pig (or any other critter) and discouraging him from even attempting to enter the beds. Red pepper seemed to work ok on a small trial area initially, but I want to find something which will not immediately wash away or dilute from the sprinkler system.

Pigs have a reputation for eating most anything. In the wild they are somewhat discriminating but captive pigs have learned to eat whatever. You can try a product called liquid fence, designed to repel deer and rabbits. It is organic and will not harm anything. All the Lowe's stores in the DFW area carry this product in the organic section. Let me know if it works and I will pass it on to the president of the Liquid Fence company.
