 If you live in a rural area and depend on a well for any of your water you should immediately get a detailed water test if you have not already done so. There are many threats to your water that you may not be aware of. One threat that we have in our area is contamination by saltwater injection wells. They have applied for a permit to drill an injection well in Wise County that will go through 3 of the minor aquifers. There has already been a situation in Chico TX where an injection well leaked through an abandoned well and killed a bunch of trees.

I agree with your interest in well water and it should be tested and sometimes treated with H2O2 - never chlorine. With that said you need a filtering system. the best use filters , UV, and ionize - positive and negative. Drink the alkaline and use acidic to rinse skin and veggies to get pesticides and herbicides off them.
That being said the average public water supply has 500 toxic chemicals in it on any given day that should be filtered.
Out side of the above info you and everyone else needs to learn how to detoxify their bodies or there loved ones on a daily basis.
It probably will not make you feel better when you find out that the gov allows 220,000 ppm of white cells in milk on any given day - simply stated that means puss. That is why you should at least buy organic milk in the store or look into buying non pasturized milk for healthy milk. Even better is grass fed milk that is not pasturized. I haven't been able to find this in N TX.

I can't agree with the absolute that well water should always be filtered. If a well is completed in a confined aquifer, has low TDS and meets the health regulations, there is no need to filter.

That is what needs tested. It is unlikely you
will find water that good, but it can occur.

Filtering water is a good idea because in addition to herbicides, pesticides and such, there is the issue of pharmaceuticals like Prozac, antibiotics, birth control, etc. finding their way into pubic water supplies.

Prozac was recently discovered in Denton streams and therefore in the food chain. Scientists can only speculate on what the full ramifications of this will be.

I personally wouldn't drink any unfiltered water from a public source or a well these days. There's just too much toxicity in the environment.

Post subject:  water quality

I had emergency surgery 5 weeks ago and
when in the hospital they took my unused
demerol - for pain - and dumped it down
the sink as a "safe"way to make sure that
it didn't get abused.
People flush antibiotics down the toilet.
It is easy to understand how this stuff gets
in our water system. I doubt if there is any
well water in the US that doesn't at least
have herbicides or some pesticides.
