:D :D :D

This is hot off the press. Folks in Florida (including a county agricultural extension agent speaking off the record) are using a light dusting of baking soda on crabgrass in their St Augustine turf to kill the crabgrass. Apparently it takes a week and the crabgrass turns black and dies leaving the St Aug unharmed. If I had crabgrass, I'd try it.

This is great! Also try it on dallisgrass and nutgrass. Then do the same thing with potassium bicarbonate which would be better for the soil in most areas.

Funny you mention those two. You must have read my response under the "non-Sticky post. :)

That thread is in the Weeds forum.

I'm going to keep the sticky on this until I return next Friday. Then I'll release it and let the message drift down the list. I just thought it was pretty important news and very timely for y'all.

I like Howard's suggestion. Try baking soda and potassium bicarbonate on all your weeds and see what happens. I would try a little at a time or if you have solid weed patches, try it there first.

Would this work on Bermuda as well?
