I need some advice. I have a high amount of shade along the side of my house, and trying to find some ground cover that will stay. I am tired of planting fescue every year, there has to be a better way. But also have to be concerned with whatever I plant I can control and not creep into neighbors yard. Grass would be great, but can't think of anything that would work....would love to hear ideas and advice. Thanks!

what part of the country are you in? Grasses typically grow where there is sunlight and moisture. Unless there is a physical barrier between your yard and your neighbors, it probably will spread. You might be better off applying a shredded wood mulch instead of grass.

North central Texas is location. I thought about mulch, but not sure how that would stand up to rain/erosion

I have 2 inches of shredded bark mulch in part of my yard under the drip line. It remains in place in the heaviest of rains.

Visit any good nursery cause they would have many options of ground covers for shade.
