Did I hear the Dirt Doctor say on one of his Sunday morning programs, on maybe on this forum to not kill the ants in the lawn because they eat termites? I have stopped killing them and just mowing over their mounds when I mow the grass. I seem to have less mounds and they are not as big. By the way I live in the country on 1.25 acres, so there is room for all the creatures to co-exist. The only creatures I don't like are the grasshoppers. They don't seem to be eating the garden this year. Must be all the compost, that I applied prior to tilling and all the cut grass I use for top dressing. the plants sure are doing good since the rain stopped. |

He might have been referring to fire ants, not regular sweet ants or any of the other varieties. Fire ants seem to overrun fleas, ticks, chiggers, and termites. |

Thanks Dave for the reply. If I find that they are fire ants, I will restart the drench program. |
