 Post subject: trimming tomato plants

Location: Waxahachie,TEXAS
I decided to trim my tomato plants, since I read somewhere to cut off all side shoots. I have noticed they don't have any new blooms on them since then. Did trimming them make them stop blooming? If so, how do I help them get new blooms? They are container plants on my patio.
