Ok, I know this is in the gardening section. However, I didn't find anything in the household section on pests. I have been waking up with tiny bites that, I believe, are caused by spiders. The common spider I find in my house has a gray fuzzy outline and black on the inside of the outline on the body with white spots. Anyway, how do I control the spiders in my home? I live in a Heights home (older neighborhood) pier and beam with hardwood floors and not very energy efficient (lots of entry points for tiny varmints). I will certainly appreciate your feedback.

Lots of dusting and vacuuming is what we do.

Also, are you all organic outside? It could be the spiders are entering the house because of the toxics outside.

I live in an older home with lots of openings for all sorts of critters...pier and beam construction, don't do pesticides, don't clean as much as I should. When new heat and ac were put in a few years ago, the workers insisted on setting off bombs under the house because there were so many spiders (actually, they did it and then told me what they'd done).
Last summer and now I am being bitten by what I think are tiny spiders getting into my clothing, bed, etc. I have a fairly strong reaction to the bites and would like to get rid of the spiders, even 'tho I've always tried to Be Nice to Spiders (the title of a book I read to my children)
HELP! Any suggestions beyond house cleaning?
