I have developed an apparent fungus problem on my red bud that is over 10 years old.

The soil here is black clay.

One section of the tree appears to be declining snd beginning to lose leaves at this time.

There are several "shelf fungus" growths at the base of the tree.

Will I have to remove this tree, or can it be saved?

It has always been on an organic program.

Thanks for your help.

Have you tried corn meal. Some at the base of the tree and you could soak some and spray liquid on bark and leaves and leave remaining wet corn meal on ground. Corn meal helped out red tips.

IF corn meal tea/juice doesn't work, finish the job with some baking soda in water, or better than Baking soda, potasium bicarbonate, if you can find it.
