I would like to find a way to get rid of grain moths. They get into all kinds of dried food such as grains, nuts and other foods that are not refrigerated. In the past I have used, with moderate success, a little, very sticky, moth catching "house", available commercially. I would like to try something else, less expensive and that would really get rid of the problem.

I've heard of using bay leaves in grain. I use them in bird seed and they seem to work well. Some people use diatomatious earth in grains for various bug problems; mayby someone else could elaborate??

I've been putting bay leaves in containers of flower, meal, and other grain products for years now, and it does work very well. One good size leaf per container seems to do the trick.

Freezing is effective if practical - are we talking ziploc bags or horse feed?????

These are tough to get rid of - had an infestation a few years ago and froze everything for a week, killed all the coccoons I could find and have not seen'm since.

Although.... my daughter 'adopts' a dozen house geckos outside the house each week in summer and 'can't find them' the next day so it may be I have 0 moths and a few dozen alligator sized geckos under the couch.
