Is it the same 20-40lbs/1000sqft as alfalfa pellets, or is it less because it's ground?

Thanks,

If you have never used soybean meal before, then I would start at 10 pounds per 1,000. After that, wait 3 weeks and you can jump to 20 pounds per 1,000. If you are a little bit crazy, you can then go to 40 pounds. What this approach is doing is developing the population of soil microbes which decompose the soybean meal. If you don't have that, then you jump right to anaerobic (stinky) decomposition. As it it you will be aware of the aroma of decomposing soy, but should only overpower you if you use it too heavily at first.
