I have a couple of those acrylic bowls with round top lids (with little air holes) that I put fruit like that in. I've ripened tomatoes from a hard green to completely ripe in those, and have ripened cantaloupe from the store in there. I imagine your cantaloupe would eventually ripen in one of these. (The tomatoes were picked rapidly before the first hard frost, so they were all sizes, and I was astonished how many ripened - be patient). You might want to put an apple or banana in the bowl with the fruit, because they'll be giving off some of the chemicals that hasten ripening.
In lieu of an acrylic bowl like this, try a brown grocery bag with the opening crumpled or clamped closed. Prior to having the acrylic thing, I used paper bags for ripening fruit.
