A group of us from this message board went to a church cemetery in Malone, Texas on Saturday the 7th of November 2003. We ordered and applied soil amendments and some clover seed. chuckfranke was to be part of this group, however he was not able to come this time (we are going again in the spring). He did, however, help us with the cost of supplies. The reasons we did this are many, and boy did we have a great time! The lady who had originally wanted to use MSMA on the cemetery even came out and made a wonderful lunch for us. As Kathe said, that is true faith!
Boy, did we have a great time!!! Kathe Kitchens, Gar and I went to Malone, Texas to spread the organic word and some soil amendments. We broadcast clover seed, too. We met Pamzilla and her family there. Together, we had a great time while thwarting the use of MSMA on the grounds. This is a really old and interesting church cemetery. The headstones date back to the early 1800’s. (That is fairly old for Texas)!
We will return in the spring of 2004 to see the progress and do a few more things to the land. We had dug out from around trees that had been planted too low and we are anxious to see the results of that, too!
I can not tell you the feeling I had after doing this. My spirits were soaring for the next week! I know Kathe and Gar shared this joy. Kathe said she sang all the way to her sister’s afterward! The road trip there with Kathe and back with Gar was great, too. It gave us a chance to talk to each other and create a special bond.
