I planted several trees last fall - all are doing will, but three that are planted on the west side of the house have taken on a permanent bend from the wind. The trees are Chinese Pistachio, Golden Raintree, and Gingko. All three trees had bamboo poles tied to them to keep them straight. I removed these when I planted them to allow their bark to heal from where the pole was lashed to the trees. I don't think that it is the root ball that is not straight. Will these trees eventually straighten out? Should I put new supports into the ground and tie them to the trees? The trunks are from 1.5" to 2" diameter.

Thank you. I really appreciate this forum!

One can always do a short term staking to young trees in the spring from bud break to late spring to correct the direction a bit. But don't leave it that way too long.
