I saw a "Silver Dollar Tree" (Eucalyptus cinerea) at Redenta's in Cedar Hill. I don't know much about this tree growing in the DFW area. I live in Grandview (Johnson County), about 40 miles south of Fort Worth on I-35.

The plant tag at Redenta's was from Monrovia and most of the info I have is from their website: monrovia.com.

Has anyone tired this tree in DFW?

I have seen a few growing down in Austin.

Eucalyptus is a broad brush to paint with, it is like saying oak, there are many kinds.

Most problems I have seen with euc in TX are more related to speed of temp change rather than the low temp itself.

With many of the eucs in TX, they will do good for a few years and then freeze, but resprout again....
