I am having a new home built in one of the new developements in Little elm. Builder will Sod front and sides, nothing in Back though. Back yard faces East with single story house to the West and 6 ft wood fence all around.

Can I plant the lawn in back from seed that late? Or would it be better to let it sit, maybe add some ammendments, and wait until spring to work on it?

I'm new to this and am not familiar with how late the different varieties of grass can be started in this area and what the best approach is. Traffic will be light, mostly for asthetics (I have no children to trample it :wink: ) and no pets....

You can plant sod at any time of the year.It may help to read the following article:
