Dalis grass is spreading rapidly in my St. Augustine grass. What can I do to kill the Dalis grass without harming the St. Augustine?

windmill,

Glad to have you as a guest but I will have to admit that I don't have an answer to your grass question.

Next best thing I can do is move your post to the Lawn Forum as you'll get more reviews there.

The only method I have had any success with it physical removal. The Vinegar/Orange Oil/Soap solution will burn it, but it's still there. Putting sugar/molasses and trying to "rot" the crown wasn't very effective either. Try hand pulling after a rain. You don't have to do it all at once, just try working a spot or two following a rain or a good sprinkler soaking. I have another tool, I think it's called a Japanese Hand Hoe, which also works well if the soil is too dry to pull. Keep your St. Augustine healthy and it should fill right back in.
