I have a 30' plus tall lavender crepe myrtle, approximately 15 years old. It is 1 foot from the foundation of the house. The circumference is approximately 14" - perhaps more. I have wanted to either prune it down, cut it down, or dig it out.
Currently, as "Pruning Queen," I have met with strong objection from the "Non-pruning King." The leaves already have had to be cut away from the roof line, so the back side of the tree is bare. The side profile looks hideous.

The King recommends I "get proper advice." So, what might you (or anyone who KNOWS trees) recommend?
