Would you mean box elder beetle or bug? Here is some info on that:
Box elder bugs feed on a variety of plants, but their favorite food is box elder seed pods, which are found only on the female box elder tree. These insects seldom develop in sufficient numbers to be a nuisance unless a female box elder tree is in the neighborhood. The most permanent solution to the box elder bug problem would be complete removal of female box elder trees from a neighborhood, although this may not be practical or desirable.
They seem to be fond of moving into a house or building for the winter, so screening vents & weep holes would be a good way to keep them out. Once they are in it's a little harder. Vacuum them up with some DE in the bag and you can kill them that way. If you need a spray there are several on the market with octopamine blockers in them such as Bioganic, EcoPCO-ACU and others which would be effective and not harmful to your family or pets. Check in your neighborhood organic sources and see what is available. There are some places on the web that will mail these products to you. Check the business listing on the other part of this website and you'll find a few. Hope this helps!
